While a cursory Web search for “five million” returns an inordinate amount of doom and gloom, we at Multiply just came across a positive instance of the number.
We’re quite proud (overjoyed, really!) to announce that in the early hours this morning, our five millionth registered user joined Multiply. Even more awesome is the fact that we only passed the four million mark less than two and a half months ago! To us, this is nothing short of phenomenal — the first million took nearly a year and a half!
Just to give you an idea of the scale, this means that if Multiply were a US metropolitan area, our population would be closing in on the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. As a country in Europe, we’d be about on par with Denmark and Finland! As a Philippine province, it’d be nearly one and a half Cebus!
Numbers may be impressive to throw around, but when one remembers that this is a measurement of the number of people who’ve joined Multiply, it seems even more monumental. Five million people now have access to a better way to securely share their memories with more of the people who matter to them.
So while we’d like to personally thank each and every person who’s joined so far… that could be a bit difficult. So we’ll thank all of you at once — you can share. 🙂

Multiply was in a major publication here in the Philippines, the Manila Bulletin.. It’s not actually a writing about multiply, its with yahoo closing some of its services.. But it is written there, a suggestion, telling people that a newer site is becoming phenomenal, easy to use and much more of services – Multiply!!

I Myself have been trying also to fill the gap where yahoo photo users are having a hard job to find a new community to join & have been posting hundreds of items in different places to try n draw them in to here.. If multiply can reach 5 million they surely can handle those 37 million that use the yahoo photo items,

In Indonesia, here we have our own MP community that has activities stretched far outside the virtual world. In fact, we’ll be celebrating our 3rd anniversary this July 7th. I’m a Yahoo 360 rescue and we are all delighted with Multiply. We wouldn’t have known about it if it hadn’t been for Yahoo leaving us totally stranded as they attempted to force us into Mash. My friends are all going on Multiply as well so we can stay as the community we were on 360. I must say though we tried just about any and every community sites about before multiply and once found! We all came to Multiply because it was the best about.
